WordPress….

So…. I have using WordPress on several sites for both myself and customers for a few years now and just have to say… I love it. I spent this morning running thru some updates which WordPress notifies you automatically about them, it also notifies you of updated plugins.

Plugins allow you to extend WordPress, to make it do just about anything.

Today I added a Flickr plugin which attaches all my 4500+ flickr photos to my WordPress blog. I also added/updated the following plugins:

  • Apture : which allows you to pull in relevent photos/wiki/resources and referrences from all over the globe

  • Bubblecast: allows video commenting on your posts

  • Status Updater: one of my favs… automatically posts to twitter and facebook

  • Peoplepond: enhances your about me page

  • Profilactic: which lists all your other social media sites with links to your profiles

  • Postmaster: posting by email… even though I have the wordpress app on my iphone i still like the features

  • ShareThis: awesome awesome plugin, allows your visitors to post to thier own social networks from your posts

  • Ebay Sales: extends your ebay listings to your blog

  • Thankme Later: automatically sends a thank you to your commenters and posters

  • Google XML: automatically updates your Google, Ask, MSN, Yahoo sitemaps with new posts

Those are my fav plugins, but no where near the limits of WordPress. Hundreds of customizable themes, backends, plugins, extensions and more make it no wonder that WordPress is one of the most popular blogging CMS’s around.

CMS, is an acronym for content management system.
